ELIGIBILITY

Any person who is unable to use regular transit facilities with safety and/or dignity is eligible for transportation on the handibus.

All riders should register before riding the handibus. In some cases, medical certification may be required.  Contact 948-2887 or complete a registrion form (download) and send it in

FARES

Specific fares depend on the distance travelled, and whatever subsidies are available from your local municipality. All trips are to be paid for upon boarding the handibus. An additional fee is charged for each extra stop that is made on your behalf. Direct billing may be available.

ATTENDANTS AND COMPANIONS

One attendant may accompany you (the rider) at no cost if you require assistance. Prior notice must be given with booking. Additional riders ride at the regular fee but only if space is available.

Handibus reserves the right to require an attendant if the passenger's condition compromises the safety and comfort of others passengers travelling on the bus.

When making a reservation, the following information will be required:

1. Name, address & telephone.

2. Date and appointment time.

3. Location of appointment

4. Return time.

5. Mobility aid (wheelchair, scooter, walker)

6. Will an attendant be travelling with you?

Riders are requested to book their trip at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations of bookings must be made prior to pick up or a one way fee may be charged. Cancellations should be made prior to 6:30 am, as drivers start their routes by 7:00 am.
